Hi there, my name’s Mark Fitzpatrick.

You may have arrived here through my personal domain (markfitzpatrick.com.au) or from my blog (thisgeeksgoals.com) Either way, thanks for stopping by.

Here are some summaries of the things that fill my days. For more information on my interests, projects or pastimes, follow any of the links below.

For the arts

I’m most excited by arts, culture and entertainment and look for ways of investing my time in theatre, galleries and cultural projects.

I like staying organised and I’m told it’s something that I’m good at so I try to find ways of applying this skill for the benefit of cultural groups. I’ve previously represented Tasmania as a board member of the national youth arts peak body Young People and the Arts Australia and I’m the current Treasurer of the TMAGgots, a not-for-profit museum group run by young, culturally engaged Hobartians.

I’ve also found select online marketing projects to keep myself busy, providing website development support and hands on social media management services. Favorite projects so far have been online management for the Hobart Comedy Festival and web and social marketing support for World Party Tasmania.

For a living

I’ve worked with Tasmanian arts organisations for over a decade, promoting cultural engagement through marketing, management and consultancy roles. I’m currently employed as the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery‘s Marketing and Membership Officer. Before joining the TMAG team, I completed a 7 year contract with the Tasmanian Theatre Company where I commenced as Administrator before being appointed General Manager.

For enjoyment

In 2011 I started my first blog (thisgeeksgoals.com) where I’m midway through a year-long project documenting my progress against three goals; To read, save and exercise more. Despite anything you may read on my blog, I love reading. I also watch an unhealthy level of reality television and home makeover shows. I also love LEGO.

Social networking

I admit, I spend a lot of time exploring and enjoying social networks (as a private citizen and through my work) and I know my away around many of them quite well. Feel free to contact me through any of the networks below. Don’t be shy now!
